The power of the written word
In a day and age of texting, emails, tweets and Facebook messaging the written word does not seem to be as popular. I like a lot of the world text, tweet, blog, Facebook and all that stuff but I do still love to receive a written word in the form of a card or letter. I am trying to remember that there are others who love to hold a card or hand written not in their hand as much as I do, so I hope to write more personal notes in the future instead of relying on convenience. After losing Todd I realized how much more I cherish the cards, letter and hand written notes I received from him and how I wished I had not thrown anything away ever! That's why I was thrilled to tears when I opened a Bible I had not used in a while and I found the following words written on a piece of paper by my precious husband. What a joy life has been with you. I really can't imagine going on this journey loving and caring for people with anyone else. You are not just my wife you are a faithful disciple. Your actions and attitude bring great encouragement to me, the family and the church. I am so proud of who you are and how you represent me. I love and adore you!
Your devoted husband,
This note was written on August 9, 2009 exactly three years ago today and just 4 weeks before Wells Branch Community Church would launch and open its doors for the very first service. No matter what I was feeling before I received that note, in an instant I knew my husband was proud of me, that he loved me and wanted no other to walk this journey with him, WOW!!
SO as I sit here 3 years later getting ready to mark the year anniversary of Todds relocation to Heaven, I am overwhelmed all over again at the LOVE and PRIDE my husband had in me. At times I may feel inadequate for the great task that is before me but I read this and remember Todd believed in me and loved me beyond measure. And my God LOVES and ADORES me more! And by His great power, His ability and confidence, I will make it! Now that is an AWESOME thought!!
I wonder if you realize just how much your love and adoration toward your own family will impact their lives? I pray Todd's letter will encourage you and spur you to tell someone you love today in a letter or card just how much they mean to you. Thanks for allowing me to share this with you!
Praying YOU will find the strength to Live For More too!
